Faith Development for Youth
Sunday Small Groups
Becoming: 8th–9th Grade Coming of Age
Coming of Age is a rite of passage program that helps youth shape their own UU identity and embrace the values that will shape their lives. Becoming’s theological approach frames the spiritual life around three core themes and questions.
-Belonging – To whom or what do I belong?
-Becoming – Who am I becoming?
-Beyond – What is beyond me?
While youth explore these questions, they will craft their personal belief statements (credo statements) and engage in a community service project. The year concludes with a special celebratory service where youth will share their credo statements.
On the Road Together: 10th–12th grade
With a focus on relationships, youth are empowered to participate in project-based activities such as social justice, fundraising, and
planning for the UU Youth Heritage Trip to Boston. In addition, time each month will be dedicated to volunteering at UUCMC and attending a worship service.
