Welcome to Our Learning Community!
“Lifespan Faith Development” is a term Unitarian Universalists often use when discussing religious education or faith formation in programs for children, youth, and adults. At the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth County, we believe that faith development is a lifelong journey that we take together; it happens within and beyond the walls of our community. The term Lifespan Faith Development is an expanded way of thinking about what had long been called “religious education.”
Our Faith Development program is designed to inspire ethical, social, and spiritual growth.
- Ethical growth – internalizing enduring values like justice, equity, and compassion and gaining tools to act on them in everyday life.
- Social growth – connecting with peers and people of all ages on a deeper level. Finding acceptance among people who see beyond the superficial.
- Spiritual growth – feeling a connection with the sacred within, among, and beyond us.
Contact Michelle McKenzie-Creech, Director of Family Ministry (DFM), if you have questions! Grandkids, friends, and neighbors are always welcome!
