We welcome suggestions for speakers and topics. Please email uucmc@uucmc.org.

Upcoming Sunday Dialogs, 9:00am, Community Room

September 21st: Halting Democratic Backsliding

UUCMC Democracy Team

We will present recent findings and information from Indivisible, Horizons Project, the One Million Rising training, and more.  The Dialog will include recommendations for effective actions that people can take to stop authoritarianism and its ‘pillars of support.’

October 5th: Frontier Feminists

Jeff Heller

I’ll focus on one woman from the 1700s who’s very interesting but largely unknown. Molly Brant, an Iroquois whose life of adventure during the Revolutionary War inspired three women (including Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott) to write the documents that launched the struggle for women’s rights in America.

Jeff Heller writes historical fiction for young adults, in addition to screenplays, novels for adults, and short plays.

October 19th: Primo Levi

Tim Geiselman

Primo Levi was an Italian/Jewish chemist, writer, and Holocaust survivor. Gifted with a writer’s keen eye to detail and memory, his story is illuminating. His most famous book, “If this is a Man”, chronicles 11 months as a prisoner in Auschwitz along with the questions he raises and answers he proposes. We will spend the dialog discussing his journey and the Holocaust in general.

Tim Geiselman has been a congregant at UUCMC since 2016. He lives in Middletown with his wife Rosane and has a lifelong interest in music, books and history.
