Share the Plate
In keeping with our generous values, our Board Of Governance created a policy that for ten months out of the year (September through June of each Congregational Year), half of our Sunday offertory is given to an outside organization. This Share-the-Plate program divides equally the Sunday general collection between the Congregation’s Operating Fund and a local charity.
Each year, our Social Justice Committee chooses five charities to share our abundance with. The other five are voted on at our June Congregational Meeting, after suggestions have been submitted for consideration by our congregation Members. Some of the groups UUCMC has supported are:
Habitat for Humanity of NE Monmouth County
Covenant House, Asbury Park
Lunch Break, Red Bank
The Parker Family Health Clinic
Family Promise of Monmouth County
