Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth County Music! Music! Music! Louise Chernosky
From the April 2008 UUCMC Newsletter Music! Music! Music! On April 13, the UU Singers will sing an arrangement of the Bulgarian folk song "Polegnala e Tudora." This is a song about a girl named Tudora who has fallen asleep under an olive tree. The wind blows, and a twig snaps off the tree, waking her. She becomes angry at the wind, saying, "I was having a sweet dream that my true love came and brought a beautiful bouquet, and on the bouquet was a golden ring." -- Louise ChernoskyMusic Director
A LISTING OF OUR ONGOING PROGRAMS. UU Singers UU Singers is a choral group of men and women (high school and up) who rehearse every Thursday evening from 7:20-9:30 p.m. They perform about twice a month for the Sunday morning services, both 9:00 &11:00 with a repertoire that is very varied (classical, jazz, world music, chant and more). They also perform one or two large-scale works each year. UU Singers is open to anyone who loves to sing, even if they cannot read music. A music reading class is offered during the year for those who are interested. |
